We are bracing for a little rain and wind in Down East North Carolina due to tropical storm Hannah. If we get enough rain from this storm, we may pull out of the drought we've been in for lo these many years. :D

Bands of clouds began moving in early this morning, but the rain didn't begin at school until 12:00, which is when the district decided yesterday to dismiss classes for the day. It rained on me off and on all the way home, but has stopped for now. We aren't supposed to get much until tonight, though. I just hope the wind isn't gale force by the time Hannah reaches us.

I'm going out in a few minutes to stack the plastic chairs and move some other stuff into a sheltered area so the yard won't be littered with debris tonight.

The sky at sunrise this morning was very prettily streaked with clouds and sun so I decided to take some pictures. I haven't taken a sunrise picture since May or June!

Taken at 6:15 A.M....'In Advance of Hannah'...

This one was taken about an hour later...'Streaking'...photo of the day...

Wow, what beautiful pictures! Are you scheduled to get Hannah right where you live? I guess I didn't realize you lived that close to the ocean..*scratches head*
We are bracing for Ike. If it clears the peninsula and heads to the gulf, I think Pansama City Beach might just get hit..

They are saying now that she'll make landfall in South Carolina, but we'll get rain and some wind.

I'm about an hour from a public beach.

Here's hoping Ike misses you! YIKES! He looks like a mean one!

Here's hoping you get rain without damaging wind. Those photos are beautiful.

I watched the local weather tonight. Looks like I'm in the direct path once she makes landfall. Three different models show her zooming right over my house, but the winds aren't supposed to be much over 50mph. I've been in worse. ;)

What GORGEOUS skies! I guess storms create special atmospheric conditions well in advance.

I hope you're spared the gale part, though, and just get the rain you need.

The skies were so beautiful this morning I couldn't resist.

Thanks for the well wishes. I've been thinking about you and Manolo all day. :(

Thank you. It's going to be a hard road for Manolo. I can see that.

Whoa!!! I have a folder of sky photos that I can use to make up the *wallpaper" slide show on my computer. I hope that you don't mind if I add yours?

I hope Hannah misses you except for some rain. Believe it or not--we have had rain in St. Louis for a few days as the aftermath of Gustav. The weather has also cooled off significantly although it really hasn't been terribly hot here this summer. We only had a few heat warning days in August.

I don't doubt you got some of that rain. St. Louis isn't that far from where I grew up - just south of Memphis. We used to get stormy weather from the Gulf hurricanes.

Enjoy the cooler weather!
