Sunday morning walk...

The focus of today's photographs is weeds. Yes, weeds. I have this thing about nature's beauty whether the common or the spectacular. Um...I don't really have any spectacular weeds in my yard, but what is out there is pretty beautiful in its own right.
Now see, many people would have apoplexy over my yard. It is covered in weeds, the edges overgrown with thorny vines and scrub bushes, wisteria clambering over every wall and choking out the camellias and baby magnolias, wild periwinkle and English ivy creeping up and over and around everywhere. But none of it really bothers me. I would like to get the grass mowed soon, but the other is just fine.
So it was easy to focus on weeds today. ;)
Common clover, but up close I think it is a gorgeous bloom with its feathery petals on its perfectly round head.

Dadelions! Who among you hasn't fought the good fight in an attempt to eradicate them from your lawn? I just love the curly tendrils among the petals and the color.

I'm sure you've noticed that the oxalis blooms sleep at night and do not wake until the sun hits them smack in the face. I found one playing Peep Eye!

This year there are more creeping buttercups than ever. Mabry loves them and picks a handful for her mama every week.

This is a new one. Or maybe I just never noticed it. I had to google to find out the name, which is very exotic for such a teeny tiny bloom...Common Venus's Looking Glass. :D The deep purple is so pretty.

I took this picture a while back in anticipation of doing this very post. These are all over the place, too, but I have no idea what they are. I just call it a blue weed. It's very difficult to photograph because it is tiny! I've googled but come up empty.

This is another tiny bloom I photographed at the same time as the previous weed. I think the three teensy bells are adorable, but you have to get down on your knees to even see them.

Now, I ask you...weed or wildflower? I'm thinking wildflowers. ;)
