Sunday Morning Finds...

It's a gorgeous day in Eastern North Carolina. When I took my usual Sunday morning stroll around the yard, ( evidence of spring was everywhere )

Wow!

One of the plants I like to use in container gardening is the ornamental sweet potato. Last year Peyton planted one, and I planted one.

This afternoon while Melanie and I were chatting in front of my apartment, I began to pull out some of the dead material from the pots. Look what I found...






Peyton's sweet potato vine produced a potato! I've never had this happen before, and mine didn't produce anything except roots. Peyton was so proud. If I'd known it was there last fall, I'd have pulled it up and cooked it for him. LOL!
