Project 366...

A story...

My name is Tatiana, and I live on the north slope of a very large, rough mountain. It's green - very green - right now, but soon a blanket of white will cover the ground. Then I will not be able to go out. I will be housebound again and this time alone. I have stacked firewood and stored mushrooms and nuts for the coming winter. I will be safe.

The explosion is still a vivid memory. Every hut except mine was blown off the mountain. Great plants splintered and fell willy-nilly around the countryside missing my house by mere inches. Slabs of wood and even parts of my neighbors' roofs still dot the pasture downhill. I will leave them as a reminder.

My beloved Andrei died in that pasture, but I choose to remember his fine smile and tender ways, not his gruesome death. His teachings about living off the land will come in handy this winter. I will survive in honor of him. But first I must purchase some sheepskin. It's cold in here.

Tatiana's hut is my photo of the day...'Precipice'...

Awwww....sweet and sad and cute all in one.
Where did you find that green green moss? It's pretty!
And what is the "hut" really?

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-05 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahahahaha! Thanks.

The green, green moss is at the base of one pine tree on the school campus. There is a row of about twelve trees and only ONE has moss at its base. :/

I have no idea what Tatiana's hut is. I didn't even notice it until I uploaded the picture to my computer at school. LOL!

Eh, something different.

You reminded me a bit of [livejournal.com profile] jackiejj's flights of fancy.
:)
It really is sweet!

You're sweet to say so. [livejournal.com profile] jackiejj is a super talented writer! :D

Awwww...Piglet and his lists. Now THAT'S sweet. :)

Okay, I am in the slow class.
"Precipice" is a kid's book? If so what ages? Did I miss something?
Those phots are gorgeous.

Awww, how sweet the story is. It is amazing to me how much you come up with. I always enjoy coming to your journal and reading.

Your story was so sweet and so sad. *sniffle*

THEN, I read the comments between you and Donna. You were just playing with my head!! Ch!!

Ok, I feel better now. ;-)

BTW, that's some of the greenest green I've ever seen.

Thank you!

No, I just name my photos, and the 'hut' seems to be perched on a precipice. You haven't missed anything. :D

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 09:09 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

When I saw the 'hut' in the picture, the story popped into me head. It's been a long time since I've tried my hand at fiction. I'm out of practice. :/

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 09:12 am (UTC)(link)
Hahahahahaha! I DID go back and edit in A story...! Hahahahaha!

Isn't that moss green. It's just screaming! At first I thought it was because of all the pine straw around it, but no...it's just super green. :D

I foresee a handsome stranger showing up at Tatiana's door during a fierce snowstorm. They will fall in love, and they will snuggle together in the sheepskin.

I'm sure he is very mysterious and has a fascinating past, but we'll leave it up to Tatiana to piece things together.

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-06 10:25 pm (UTC)(link)
She's a little too upset about Andrei to think about another man right now, but I'm secretly hoping a shepherd comes along to fix the leak in the roof. She just noticed it today. *sigh* Romance can be ruined by reality sometimes.

Maybe Tatiana will update us next spring...IF she survives. ;)

You do realize you have started a story you will now have to finish. It will be at the edges of your mind calling for its voice until you capture it and write it's lyrics.
But that is how amazing pieces are born.

I want MORE......

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:05 am (UTC)(link)
Hah! This is called a quick write...it is what it is. ;)

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 09:06 am (UTC)(link)
Well, another photo of the day will have to crop up that fits! Hahahahaha!

[identity profile] cdnbb1.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
go back to that same spot and take pictures as the seasons change. winter should bring on a different look to the moss and ground. maybe there will be some ice or snow.
then up-date the story as we go. come on "teach" you've got a mandate from your fans! LOL!

[identity profile] heartmart.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Waits patiently... Oh! Is that Tatiana peeking out from behind your icon?

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Tatiana is very shy, but she is quite likely hiding in the foliage watching YOU! LOL!

[identity profile] deltamiss.livejournal.com 2008-11-07 10:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooookay. I think I could manage to get back out there even with ice on the ground IF I were at school. But since I don't GO to school on icy days, I doubt this will ever happen. Snow maybe...hmmmm. Now there's a thought. ;)
