Project 366...

The drive to work this morning was surreal. Even though light fog hovered just above car level most of the way, the sky was perfectly clear, and I could have driven without the ONE headlight because the moon was just that bright. Once in a while a halo of fog would appear around the moon, but it barely dimmed the orb. Unbelievable beautiful! I wish I could have captured the true beauty with the camera.

This morning's moon (technically it's tonight's) is known as a Hunter's Moon - the first full moon after the Harvest Moon, which is the full moon closest to the Autumnal Equinox. I learned all this years ago but was reminded Saturday night when I watched Star Gazer on PBS about what to look for in the sky during the coming week. I'm glad I did, but there'd have been no way to miss this gorgeous sight.
