A few things are still blooming around here. The dogwoods are waning; the azaleas are fading; the creeping phlox is slowing; forsythia, quince, daffodils and irises - spent; the wisteria gone. The old white azaleas always bloom late and seem to last longer than the pinks and reds; the coreopsis and dianthus are coming back; the grasses and pecan trees are setting blooms; the mahonia is setting fruit.

White Azalea...

Spring Bouquet...

Dogwood

Creeping Phlox

Coreopsis...

Red Dianthus...

Half a Heart...

Pecan Catkins...

Mahonia Fruit...

Awww...thanks, Deb, but my piddling photos aren't nearly good enough for anybody but me.

I hope you don't get frost. It would be a shame to lose all those tender buds!

How BEAUTIFUL!!!
Our daffodils are pretty much gone now, and the Magnolias... but lots of other trees are still blooming and we have lots of Wood Poppies blooming making things still look pretty.

We are so excited... our Wisteria is going to bloom for the first time ever, and we have been growing it for YEARS.

I've heard it takes years for wisteria to bloom, but once it does..LOOK OUT! How exciting to have a long wait gifted with beautiful blooms!

The DOT here plants wildflowers along a stretch of highway between school and home. Poppies are the most prolific. I can't wait for them to bloom!

That would be lovely! Some areas here have something called Crown Vetch. It's very pretty when it blooms. It also helps to stop erosion.

How beautiful! All the color! All the variety!

Oh, geez, I hope my allergies ease up soon. I always have issues with allergies, but if this continues much longer, I'll need a nose transplant! Oy!

I am now undecided about my runny nose. I think I may have a cold. YUCK!

The pecan catkins look like they¬°d make me sneeze.
LOL

That coreopsis just jumps out at me. Gorgeous!
The pale blue of the creeping phlox is one of my favourite colours.
I love Spring.

I don't know if I am sneezing and wheezing because of pecan catkins or if I have a cold. I just know it's miserable!

I love that creeping phlox. I'm thinking of transplanting it to get some good cover with it.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. And I don't sneeze looking at them!

I especially like the grass photo.

I like the grass photo, too. Sometimes the bloom shoots up above the grass, but usually I have to search for it.

Gorgeous! We're lucky to have some tulips and a few leaves on the trees. April is the cruelest month. But, ah! May is coming!

We had some really HOT days and warm nights that forced a lot of plants to bloom quite early. Except for a few late bloomers, our season is just about done.
